Kambo: Frequently Asked Questions

Short, honest answers. Still unsure? Ask me on a free call.

Does it hurt?

The gates feel like a quick, small burn. The active phase is uncomfortable — heat, pressure and nausea — but it is short, usually 5–15 minutes at its peak.

Do I have to vomit?

Most people purge, but not everyone. Purging can also look like crying, sweating, yawning or shaking.

Is Kambo legal?

Kambo is not a controlled substance under U.S. federal law. It is not approved by the FDA as a medicine, and I never present it as one.

Is Kambo a psychedelic?

No. Kambo does not cause visions or change your perception. You stay fully conscious and aware.

Will I leave scars?

The small marks usually fade over weeks or months. Some people keep tiny dots, and some choose to.

Can I drive home afterwards?

Most people can, after resting. I'll check on you before you leave.

How many sessions do I need?

One ceremony can be enough. Traditionally, three within a moon cycle are recommended. We decide together.

Can I do Kambo if I take antidepressants or other medication?

It depends on the medication. Tell me everything on the health form; sometimes I'll ask you to check with your doctor.

What should I bring?

Comfortable clothes, a change of clothes, a water bottle, and an open mind.
