Kambo comes from the secretion of the Phyllomedusa bicolor, also known as the Giant Monkey Frog, native to the Amazon rainforest.
For generations, Indigenous tribes such as the Katukina, Matsés, and Yawanawá have worked with this sacred medicine as part of their cleansing and strengthening rituals.
They believe Kambo helps purify the body, clarify the mind, and realign the spirit — bringing courage, vitality, and focus before important life events such as hunting, healing, or initiation.
How Kambo Is Collected
Kambo is collected ethically and sustainably. The frog is gently called from the trees by singing and imitating its sounds. Its secretion is carefully gathered from its skin and then released back into the forest unharmed.
The secretion contains natural bioactive peptides that interact with the human body on a cellular level, influencing physical, emotional, and energetic systems.

A Kambo ceremony is a sacred and intentional process that lasts about 60–90 minutes. It’s not only a physical cleanse — it’s a deep energetic and emotional release. Each session is unique, guided by your body and your intention for the day.
Before the medicine is applied, you will drink about 1 liter of water. This helps your body stay hydrated and supports the cleansing process.
We’ll begin with a moment of stillness to set your intention and connect to your breath. You’ll be guided gently through each step so you can relax and surrender to the experience.
Kambo is applied to small points on the surface of the skin — traditionally called “gates.”
A small stick is used to gently remove the top layer of skin (similar to a tiny scrape). The secretion is then placed onto these points, allowing the peptides to enter the lymphatic system.
For first-time participants, we begin with one small test point to observe how your body responds. Depending on your comfort and experience, between 3 and 9 points may be applied during a session.
The placement varies — often on the arm, leg, or shoulder, though experienced participants may receive Kambo on the back or chakra points.

Within a few minutes, you may feel warmth, tingling, or an energetic rush through your body — signs that the medicine is working.
Your heart rate may increase temporarily as the peptides circulate through your system. Some people feel pressure in the head or heat in the face.
These sensations typically last 5–15 minutes and then begin to ease.
As Kambo activates the body’s natural detox response, you may experience:
Not everyone purges, and that’s completely okay — the medicine works on multiple levels beyond the physical.
After the active phase, you’ll rest quietly. Many people describe a profound sense of calm, clarity, and emotional openness that follows.
You’ll be offered electrolytes, fruit, or coconut water to rehydrate.
Some participants prefer to lie down or meditate for a few minutes, allowing their body to reset.
Once you feel grounded, you’ll be able to drive home — though taking the rest of the day off for integration is highly recommended.
Over the next few days, you may notice:
It’s important to stay hydrated, eat nourishing foods, and allow your body to rest. Avoid alcohol or heavy meals for 24 hours so the medicine can continue working gently.
